Executive In Residence

Jennifer Simpson leads the venture growth debt fund at Anzu Partners. She has worked in the field most of her career, including as an executive in private equity investing to industrial companies, senior leadership roles in leveraged lending and small business credit, CFO/CIO/COO of a national environmentally-focused foundation, and CFO of a MedTech early stage company. She was also the founding executive director of the Aspen Institute’s Finance Leaders Fellowship focused on improving public trust in the global investment and finance industry.

Jennifer served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army’s Medical Service Corps after attaining her BS in Economics from the Wharton School. She is a board member and on the finance committee of the North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation, board member of Carolina Community Impact (a Community Development Financial Institution), board chair for LBR (a FinTech nonprofit focused on financial access and literacy), and board member for Slingshot Coffee Company. Her MBA is from Case Western Reserve University. Jennifer also has two children who are working in the physics and engineering fields.
