William H. Strong is a professional investor and corporate finance advisor with more than 40 years of investment, capital markets and transactional experience.  Immediately prior to joining Anzu, Mr. Strong served as Chairman and Managing Director of Longford Capital.  Longford Capital is a private equity firm that invests in commercial litigation believed to be high value and meritorious. He served as a member of the Investment Committee and was responsible for investment sourcing, investment structures, and investor relations.  During Mr. Strong’s time at Longford Capital, the firm raised in excess of $1 billion across three funds. 

Prior to Longford Capital, Mr. Strong worked in the financial services industry for more than 35  years lastly serving as a member of Morgan Stanley’s Global Management Committee and co-CEO for its Asia Pacific Region and, previously, as Vice Chairman of Investment Banking. During his career, he advised clients in more than 25 countries involved in capital-raising transactions across all product classes as well as mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Mr. Strong held posts in Chicago, New York, London, and Hong Kong. Most recently, in Hong Kong, he had responsibility for the strategic direction and financial performance of Morgan Stanley’s businesses in the Asia Pacific region which employed approximately 5,000 professionals. Mr. Strong maintained key relationships with many of Morgan Stanley’s largest clients in the region including sovereign governments, corporations, institutional and ultra-high-net-worth investors as well as regulators and the press.

Mr. Strong has been active in public service. In 2006, Mr. Strong was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve on the Board of Visitors of the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York. In 2008, he was asked by the office of the Secretary of Defense to organize and lead an economic mission to Iraq on behalf of the United States Department of Defense. In 2010, Governor Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. of Indiana appointed Mr. Strong to the Board of Trustees of Indiana University, Bloomington, during which tenure he served as a member of the Finance and Audit, Health Affairs, and Compensation and Benefits Committees. In 2013, Mr. Strong was appointed by The Honorable Leung Chun-Ying, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to the Financial Services Development Council, Hong Kong. Mr. Strong currently serves as a Life Trustee and was formerly Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Strong is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Market Solutions and the Navy SEAL Foundation.

Mr. Strong is a Certified Public Accountant and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and an MBA from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management. He also received a Certificate of Language from University of Vienna.
